Quick answers about verification badges, event ticketing, listing approvals, and profile privacy.

Account & Profile Privacy

Managing your visibility, connection circles, and profile settings

You can manage your privacy controls from your user dashboard. Go to Settings > Privacy Flags. From there, you can independently toggle off public visibility for:

  • Your active RSVP list on public event pages.
  • Your connection circles and followed user lists.
  • Your saved locations and favorite businesses.

If your profile is public, your name, bio, and profile picture will be displayed in our public directory. You can set your profile to Private Mode at any time under your Account Settings to hide your profile from search engines and directory browsing.

It depends on the profile type. Personal profiles never show your email or phone number to anyone, including connections. Your social circle and event RSVP's are only displayed to active connections.

Events & Ticketing

Door check-ins, external redirects, and event management

Event organizers can access the built-in mobile scanner directly from their event dashboard:

  1. Log into your host account on any mobile browser.
  2. Navigate to My Events > [Select Event] > Door Scanner.
  3. Grant camera permissions to scan attendee QR codes in real time.

Yes! When creating or editing an event, switch the ticketing mode from "Built-in RSVP" to "External Ticketing Link". Enter your target URL (Eventbrite, Square, Dice, custom domain, etc.), and the primary "Get Tickets" button will safely redirect attendees to your platform of choice.

It's returned to Draft status rather than being deleted. Once you've made the necessary updates, it's automatically resubmitted for review. No need to manually resubmit.

For events with RSVP required, you'll get a reminder once the event reaches 75% capacity, and you can invite friends to gauge their interest before fully committing. For events without an RSVP requirement, "Maybe" is more informal. It just helps the organizer get a sense of who might show up.

Yes, anytime, for any event managed directly on our platform (this doesn't apply to externally-ticketed paid events. Cancel those through the original ticketing provider). Cancelling a free event's RSVP opens up a spot for anyone on the waitlist. We also track cancellations and late cancellations, which organizers can see when reviewing their event.

Make sure the browser has camera permission enabled, hold the code steady in good lighting, and try moving closer/farther to get it in focus. If it still won't scan, you can always check attendees in manually from the same page instead.

The public directory only shows published, live listings. Find your own drafts, pending listings, and other events you're involved with on your Profile Dashboard instead.

Business Directory

Claiming existing nodes, updating hours, and local management

Some business profiles are automatically seeded as community nodes. If you own or manage the business:

  1. Find your business listing using the directory search.
  2. Click the "Is this your business? Claim Listing" link near the profile header.
  3. Submit proof of ownership (official email, phone verification, or business license document).

It's returned to you as a draft rather than being deleted. Once you've made the necessary updates, it's automatically resubmitted for review by our moderation team. No need to manually resubmit.

The public directory only shows published, live listings. Find your own drafts and pending listings on your Profile Dashboard instead, which includes everything you're personally involved in.

Billing, Approvals & Rules

Review timelines, subscriptions, and platform guidelines

Our local moderation team in Grand Rapids reviews all new submissions to keep community data accurate. Free listings typically undergo review within 12–24 hours. Premium and featured listings receive expedited review (usually within 2 hours).

Visit your Billing Portal from your account settings. This takes you to our secure, Stripe-hosted portal where you can update your card, view past invoices, and manage your subscription.

Yes. Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep full access to your current plan until then, and you won't be charged again afterward.

We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods. When you downgrade or cancel, you keep access through the rest of what you already paid for, but we don't refund unused time. If you think you were charged in error, contact us and we'll take a look.

For business listings specifically, nothing gets deleted. If you have more listings than your new plan allows, we hide your oldest listings first until you're back within your limit. Re-upgrading, or removing enough listings to fit your new plan, makes them visible again immediately.

No. Browsing, RSVPing to public events, and connecting with people are all free. A paid subscription is only needed for things like organizing more events or businesses than the free tier allows, sending more invites, or accessing Members Only events specifically.
